Fashion Saves the Day!
I was having kind of a crappy morning today so i thought i would buy some make up. After seeing this picture for MAC's spring look not only did I not want to buy make up but it made me chuckle. Thank you fashion for yet again making my life and day a little better.

Fronch Fries. Fronch Bread and PERU!
For those who don't know, mike and i are going to Peru in may (fall in the southern hemisphere). I am going to include a bunch of links so you can see what we will be doing and where we will be staying and visiting.
Our first stop will be Lima, Peru for 4 days. We are staying here.
The Gran Hotel Bolivar. This is where all of the dignitaries visiting Peru would stay in the past but over time it's turned into a three and a half star hotel (woot). Here's the link so you can see more pictures if you would like. More picures
Our hotel is on the main plaza of the city, plaza de san martin and plaza mayor. Off of these plazas are the national museums (inca pottery and mummies to boot) as well as cathedrals and other historic stuff... i'll elaborate when i get back. oh! we are also going to be doing temple work in the Lima temple while we are there.
From Lima we catch a flight to Cuzco. We are going to be volunteering with International Volunteer HQ. Mike is going to be working his phlebotomy magic in one of several clinics and i am working in an orphanage. It's a monday-friday kind of thing and you get the weekends to just be tourists. on our first weekend in cuzco we are going to be going to Machu Picchu. Which looks like this...
We will be staying here (yes, i'm staying in a hostel) in Aguas Calientes, dubbed "the ugliest town in peru" by lonely planet travel guide. We are really excited to go to machu picchu. We get to ride a train which is very exciting for us and we are also going to be going to the Pisac market on our way back to cuzco -like i said, i will post pictures when we get home. Although this is going to be an amazing experience, our flights are a little crazy, we have an 8 hour layover in San Salvador, El Salvador on the way down and a 4 hour layover in Bogota, Columbia on our way home. our international travel time will total close to 40 hours. boo.
I don't want to leave on a negative note so i will just say how excited and grateful both of us are to be able to give and help our brothers and sisters in Peru!

Hello Blog World!
Well this is my very first post and be it as i don't have the most exciting life i don't really know how i will keep this updated and interesting.
Mike and I are going to peru in a few months. almost all of our preparations have been made (everything with the exception of shopping and immunizations). I think that i will create a travel page or something, i'm not really sure. Mike can have his own page too since he just asked me how to log on.
Anyway, there are a few more things that i would like to say but our x-files episode is done streaming and mike is giving me a sad face...so i need to go. if you saw how adorable this face was you'd sign out too.
xoxo
